Attribute accuracy report:

Attribute data was copied directly from TIGER files and Census Public Law 94-171 redistricting population count databases. The State Library has only spot checked a few Census Tract polygons against the PL 94-171 database, but found no reason to believe that any data was joined incorrectly. It is beyond the scope of this report to discuss the accuracy of the 2000 Census population counts.

Approximate horizontal accuracy is 51 meters, assuming source data meets National Map Accuracy Standards.

Process step:

The TIGER/Line files were imported into a series of ArcView shapefiles for each Montana County using TGR2SHP version 4.1 by GIS Tools of Knoxville, TN. The individual county shapefiles were converted to Arc/Info coverages, combined into a single data set for the entire state, and converted to State Plane Coordinates.
